Nobody could guess that this thick, well-fed and with a good appetite creature is making ready a surprise for everybody. At the night from the 20th to the 21st of January the prehensile-tailed porcupine pimpla gave birth to a baby. The baby was born with an insufficient weight – 190 g, that is why the collaborators of Exotarium up to now give to it additional food in the form of milk mixture for puppies and fruits. Now they baby has grown up a little and it looks more like a porcupine. The small pimpla is actively climbing on trees, searching for food, but it does not refuse to drink its mother’s milk and milk mixture. This is the adventure which took place with the pimpla from America. Now during the working days of Exotarium from 11.00 till 16.30 you can come and have a look at feeding of the small pimpla.
One day – on the 18th of December 2009 - a pimpla came from the far-away America to Russia and settled at Tula Exotarium.

The baby did not look like a small porcupine at all: red-coloured, hairy, without a single quill…

Now the baby is growing rather rapidly, that is why the collaborators weight it nearly every day and they record the additions to its weight.
