The results of the competition of children’s creative activity “Predatory Crossword”

On the 27th of April the ceremonial opening took place, as well as awarding of the competitors with diplomas and presents from Exotarium and the company “Party”. Of course, the communication with animals was also present. Besides, the participants of the competition and their teachers had a possibility to get acquainted with the inhabitants of Exotarium more closely, they met face to face with a real predator – ferret! He was glad to sniff and to lick everybody, and allowed to shake his paw. By the way, among the 15 crosswords the informational partners of Exotarium choose those which they liked best. The magazine “Spravka” pointed out the crossword made by Natalja Labuzova, the newspaper “Sloboda” chose the crosswords made by Yulia Guseva, Ekaterina Komarova, Anastasija Skorlupkina, Yelena Babaeva, the newspaper “Moskovskii Komsomolets” chose the crossword by Sophia Meltzer. The 15 best crosswords will be presented at the public exhibition of Exotarium till the 9th of May, and all visitors who wish can try and guess the crosswords. Having admired and guessed at least a couple of words, you for sure will agree that a crossword can be not only an occupation for your leisure time, but also a masterpiece of art. Come to guess the crosswords and support predators! 
In December 2009 within the frames of the International campaign of EAZA “The Year of Predators” was announced the competition “Predatory crossword” in which about 100 school-children of Tula took part. This was not a very simple task, because it was necessary not only to select words, to compose them and to draw the checks, but also to design the crossword in such a way, so that it will be pleasant to the eyes. Besides, the jury apart from the topics and the originality of the questions, valued also the creative point.
The children have so inspired us, the collaborators of Exotarium, by their crossword, that we also composed our super-crossword. Later we were guessing it all together, and in the result from the key words we received the motto of this competition “Support the Predators!”
