African bullfrog

- It occurs in arid and semi-arid regions of Africa;
- Longevity can attain 16 years;
- During drought it falls into hibernation, burying itself into silt, and not to perish from dehydration, it stores in its urinary bladder 0,5 liters of water. The name “water-carrier” originated from here.
- Males of this frog are careful fathers. While tadpoles are feeding at the water surface, the male is swimming nearby. When they protect they offspring, they attack even large animals and people.
