  • It is found in the northern states of Australia and in the south of New Guinea. The life span is more than 10 years.
  • The representatives of this species have a rather peculiar means of protection – special skin processes forming a “cloak”. Opening in the case of danger the lizard enlarges the visual size of the head and frightens its enemies by it.
  • In case of danger, when the threats do not make an effect, the lizards runs away on the hind limbs, leaning on its tail.
