  • It is found only on the Solomon islands.
  • The life span is up to 22 years. They received their name because of their prehensile tail which is used as a fifth limb, helping the animal move and hold on trees; beside the tail, long claws help hold out on the branches. This species develops very slowly, gravidity lasts up to 9 months, the female cares for its baby for a long time. Their number in the wild reduces because of a slow speed of reproduction.
