Due to a special structure of the forelegs is capable to a real long flying.

It orients itself with the help of echo-location. By the speed of return of the signals the animal determines the distance to the necessary object. It can locate the sounds which the ear of humans cannot locate.

It is a worst enemy of banana plantations. By a long row bats leave their diurnal hiding-places and make their way to the feeding places which can be situated at a distance of up to 1000 km.

At Tula Exotarium it feeds on tropical fruit and natural juices.
