- It is distributed on the south of the USA, in northern Mexico.
- The life span is up to 30 years.
- One of the largest rattlesnakes, attains the length up to 2 m. It is considered the most dangerous rattlesnake in North America. A bite of this large snake which has a strong venom often leads to a lethal result. The venom is of a mixed action, it influences the processes of respiration and circulation of the blood. The bitten victim dies within only a few seconds. By the sound of the rattle the snake frightens off predators, specimens of its own species and humans
