Turtles
Turtles are the most ancient reptiles of the modern ones. They appeared about 200 million years ago but they evolved extremely slowly that’s why contemporary turtles take after their remote ancestors very much which lived with dinasaurs side-by-side. Now there are about 294 species. In contrast to other reptiles they are covered with shells which secure their bodies. Turtles almost cannot hear but they have a very good eye-sight and olfacting. Both turtoises and turtles and freshwater turtoises oviposit overland. Representatives of this class are mostly spread in the tropics but can be also met in the moderate climate.
