- It occurs on the island Aldabra in the Indian Ocean.
- Longevity is up to 300 years.
- This is a representative of the largest land turtles of the world, attains length 125 cm in and weight 400 kg.
- Males attract females by singing a peculiar song which consists of guttural sounds and nodding their heads. Female lays from 2 up to 12 eggs, burying them into soil.
